This work was conceived as part of my graduating year grid project. Using the periodic table, a grid in itself, as my structure, I combined literature with chemistry.
The abbreviations for the 118 elements, save for a few, correspond with a title that was outlined in Harold Bloom’s ‘The Western Canon’.
This is to highlight the lack of institutional recognition of women in both literature and STEM, and what the future holds for them.
